The lesson of chess (PE) was conducted by international grossmeister Rafayel Vahanyan on May 22, 2020.
There are chess players in the world whose game has magic impression. Such chess players try not only to win but to reach their aim by a nice game. And chess is considered to be an art by such players. Among such players is Rafayel Vahanyan. Impressive and breathtaking combinations of games, subtle and thoroughly thought over ideas are prevailing in famous grossmeister’s game.
And this is what the 13th world champion has said about Vahanyan:
«Such chess players are born once in 100 years. He has brilliant logic, his each step contains deep ideology. Playing with Vahanyan you can deeply enjoy yourself and be enthusiastic».
It is the estimation of Soviet outstanding grossmeister and chess analyst Alexey Suetin.
«He has wonderful sense of carrying chess fight and is able to strengthen the game in time though sometimes he is not correct in his calculations in variants hoping only his natural chess sense».
According to Suetin, Vahanyan has no fear or mistrust before chessboard. He is always optimistic, honorable and hot tempered.
Rafael Vahanyan was born in 1951 in Yerevan. He learned to play chess at the age of 5 and his first opponent was his father.
At the age of 16 Rafael became the champion of the USSR schoolchildren and at the age of 18 one of the winners of the international youth tournament in Groningen, the Netherlands.
In 1971 he received the title of Grossdmeister. He was honored this title at the tournament in Vrnyachka Banya in 1971 where he scored 11 points out of 15 possible heading famous chess players Lubomir Lyuboich, Leonid Stein and Borislav Ivkov. The FIDE Congress awarded Vahanyan the title of Grossmeister exceptionally as he had not had yet the title of International Master.
He became the first Armenian chess player to be awarded the title of GM. After the first successes, his victorious march in serious international tournaments began which lasted till the 90s. During that time Vahanyan won more than 20 tournaments and in 1989 he became the champion of the USSR. He was also successful in team tournaments. As a member of the USSR national team he won chess Olympiads (1984 and 1986), two world team championships (in 1985 also individual gold medals on the third board and in 1989) and won three European team championships (1980, 1983 and1989).
Our nation has always been proud of its talented faces and Rafael Vahanyan is one of them because he has always kept the honor of the Armenian people high with his game and victories continuing Tigran Petrosyan.

2020թ. մայիսի 22-ին, շախմատի դասը (ֆիզկուլտուրա) վարեց միջազգային գրոսմայստեր Ռաֆայել Վահանյանը:
Կան շախմատիստներ, ում խաղը թողնում է կախարդանքի տպավորություն:Այդպիսի շախմատիստները ձգտում են ոչ միայն հաղթել,այլև նպատակին հասնել գեղեցիկ խաղով: Հենց այդ խաղացողների շնորհիվ է շախմատը համարվում արվեստ: Նրանցից մեկն է նաեւ Ռաֆայել Վահանյանը: Մեծանուն գրոսմայստերի պարտիաներում հաճախ են հանդիպել գեղեցիկ եւ սուր կոմբինացիաներ , նուրբ ու խորը հաշվարկված մտահաղացումներ:
Ահա, թե ինչ է ասել Վահանյանի մասին աշխարհի 13րդ չեմպիոնը.
«Այսպիսի շախմատիստներ ծնվում են 100 տարին մեկ: Նա փայլուն տրամաբանություն ունի, նրա ցանկացած քայլ պարունակում է խորը մտահաղացում: Խաղալով Վահանյանի հետ՝ կարելի է ոգևորվել նրանով»։
Սա էլ խորհրդային անվանի գրոսմայստեր եւ շախմատային վերլուծաբան Ալեքսեյ Սուետինի գնահատականը.
«Նա ունի շախմատային ճակատամարտը վարելու հոյակապ զգացողություն եւ կարողանում է ճիշտ պահին ուժեղացնել խաղը, թեև ոչ միշտ է հաշվարկում տարբերակները՝ հույսը դնելով իր բնատուր շախմատային հոտառության վրա»:
Ըստ Սուետինի՝ շախմատային տախտակի առջև Վահանյանը վախի կամ անվստահության զգացողություն չունի: Նա միշտ լավատես է, պատվախնդիր է եւ բռնկուն բնավորություն ունի:
Ռաֆայել Վահանյանը ծնվել է 1951 թ. Երեւանում: Շախմատ խաղալ սովորել է 5 տարեկանում եւ նրա առաջին մրցակիցը իր հայրն էր:
16 տարեկանում Ռաֆայելը դարձավ ԽՍՀՄ դպրոցականների չեմպիոն, իսկ 18֊ում՝ Նիդերլանդների Գրոնինգեն քաղաքում կայացած միջազգային պատանեկան մրցաշարի հաղթողներից մեկը:
1971 թ. նա ստացավ գրոսմայստերի կոչում: Դա տեղի ունեցավ 1971 թվականին Վռնյաչկա Բանյայում կայացած մրցաշարում, որտեղ նա 15 հնարավորից վաստակեց 11 միավոր՝ առաջ անցնելով անվանի շախմատիստներ Լյուբոմիր Լյուբոևիչից, Լեոնիդ Շտեյնից, Բորիսլավ Իվկովից: ՖԻԴԵի կոնգրեսը Վահանյանին գրոսմայստերի կոչում շնորհեց բացառության կարգով, քանի նա դեռևս չէր կրում միջազգային վարպետի կոչում:
Նա դարձավ գրոսմայստերի կոչմանն արժանացած հայաստանցի առաջին շախմատիստը։ Առաջին հաջողություններից հետո սկսվեց նրա հաղթարշավը միջազգային լուրջ մրցաշարերում, որը տևեց մինչեւ 90ականները: Այդ ընթացքում Վահանյանը հաղթել է 20ից ավելի մրցաշարերում եւ 1989 թ. դարձել ԽՍՀՄ չեմպիոն: Հաջողակ է եղել նաեւ թիմային մրցաշարերի ժամանակ.ԽՍՀՄ հավաքականի կազմում դարձել է շախմատային օլիմպիադաների (1984 եւ 1986), աշխարհի թիմային երկու առաջնությունների (1985՝ նաեւ անհատական ոսկե մեդալ 3րդ խաղատախտակի վրա, եւ 1989) եւ Եվրոպայի թիմային երեք առաջնությունների (1980, 1983, 1989) հաղթող:
Մեր ազգը միշտ հպարտացել է իր տաղանդավոր զավակներով եւ Ռաֆայել Վահանյանը հենց այդ մարդկանցից է, քանզի նա իր խաղով եւ արդյունքներով միշտ բարձր է պահել հայ ժողովրդի պատիվը՝ շարունակելով Տիգրան Պետրոսյանի գործը:
