A competition has been held today at Shushi University of Technology to dismantle, assemble and shoot weapons on the initiative of Chairman of the Student Council Olesya Sahakyan and the Chair of the Humanities. The inner-university competition has been dedicated to the Day of the First Republic of Armenia which has been attended by students and lecturers of the university. The competition has started with a minute of silence in memory of the immortal martyrs for the Armenian statehood.
“May 28 is one of the most memorable holidays on the Armenian calendar, because on this day we rebuilt the statehood which was lost for centuries. Of course, we are grateful for the May victories, the unity and determination for self defense of our nation”- the Chair of the Humanities Mher Harutyunyan has said in his opening speech.
The competition has been held in two rounds. The referee’s responsibilities have been entrusted to the Military Chief of the chair, retired Major Alexander Sahakyan.
Vitaly Sargsyan, David Petrosyan and Andrey Hakobyan have won the prizes in the shooting competition respectively and Gevorg Isakhanyan, Andrey Hakobyan and Arsen Abrahamyan have won the competition to dismantle, assemble and shoot weapons. They have received diplomas from Rector Nver Mikayelyan.
Shushan Baghryan has become the winner in the “Best Girl Shooter” nomination who has also been awarded a diploma.
