On the initiative of the Center of Career and Continuing Education of Shushi University of Technology, a round table discussion entitled “University-labor market: sustainable future” was organized on June 10.
The purpose of the discussion was to identify the main requirements of employers and responsibles of the sector and to try to correspond the educational programs of the university to the requirements of the labor market and country.
Deputies of the National Assembly, representatives of different ministries and employers took part in the round table.
A number of issues were raised during the discussion: the urgency of providing graduation theses, novelty of topics of master’s theses, the discussion of the final results according to the specialties, the employment of graduates and the organization of student training in appropriate jobs. Signifying the improvement of theoretical knowledge through practice, the head of the Department of Plant Breeding and Plant Protection of the staff of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Artsakh Aram Badalyan noted: “In order to be aware of all the innovative technologies, we are ready to organize frequent meetings with students and to exchange our professional experience with them”.
During the discussion, the existing problems in the management of the university were raised in response to which the Rector of the university Nver Mikayelyan said: “This is the first time such a discussion has taken place. I highlight the opinion of each of you, it will help us take the right steps in making decisions and in the future we will come up with a new format of actions”.
