On the occasion of the Day of Plant Health, the Center of Career Development and Continuous Education of SHUT initiated a round table discussion with industry officials and employers.
At the beginning of the discussion, Arevik Harutyunyan, Deputy Rector of Work with Students of SHUT, greeted all those present, noting that the university is planning a number of events on the occasion of the holiday.
A number of issues related to plant health protection, obtaining a healthy and high-quality harvest, increasing agricultural productivity, food security, food self-sufficiency of the region, existing problems, achievements and upcoming steps were raised at the round table.
Noting the importance of the role of agronomists in the development of the industry, the Head of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture Aram Badalyan noted: “Today’s youth has the greatest potential to become an agronomist in demand on the labor market. Today we strive to ensure that any investments or financing in agriculture are carried out competently in order to have modern agriculture. And for this you need to love your specialty and be a sought-after specialist.”
The Director of the Plant Protection Service, Suren Shindyan, presented the activities of the organization and the existing problems.
